Restoring a Data Backup
Previously made backup files can be easily restored by Passify. Unlike Sync however, restoring a backup completely replaces any existing data.
Restoring a backup completely replaces existing data! Unlike Sync, restoring does not merge changes and all existing data is completely replaced. Make sure that you do not need any existing Generators before performing a restore over data.
To restore a backup:
- Tap the Passify menu icon and tap "Settings"
- Swipe up to the bottom of the Settings panel and tap the "Restore My Generators" button
Passify will prompt you to select the backup file to restore. Locate the backup file and tap to select it. You can restore from the device directly or from a file on iCloud if iCloud Drive is enabled.
- Enter the backup's encryption key. You must use the same key that was used to create the backup.
- Passify will restore the data and confirm if successful.
