Assigning Character Sets To Generators
When you create a new Generator, some Character Sets are automatically added to the new Generator — either Character Sets marked as Default, or Character Sets as defined by known password requirements.
Default Character Sets
Character Sets that have been marked as Default will automatically be added to that Generator. See "Setting Default Character Sets for more information on how to set your default Character Sets
Password Requirement Overrides
If a website is included in the Generator's name (e.g. example.com), Passify may override your Default Character Sets and assign Sets based on known password requirements.
Passify uses the open source Password Manager Resources list of known password requirements for many sites and automatically configures the generation rules accordingly if you include the domain name in the Password Generator's name. This includes automatic creation of custom Character Sets if needed.
Manually Adjusting Character Sets
You can also manually edit a Generator's Character Sets by editing the Generator:
Modifying Character Sets will cause current and past passwords to be lost! Changing Character Sets for an existing Generator will result in all current and past passwords being permanently lost. Adjust Character Sets before using passwords from the Generator or create a new Generator if you need to preserve old passwords.
- Tap the Generator that you wish to modify
- Tap the "Edit" button
- Swipe down and tap the currently assigned Character Set list
- Tap to toggle which Character Sets are assigned
A checkmark indicates that the Generator will use the checked Character Set.
You can also create a new Character Set from this screen by tapping the "+" button.
